Just got my race kit back from the printers, with the logos of the organizations and institutions that have backed the Better Diabetes Care & Cure campaign now printed in it. Thank you to them, and to the individuals who've donated to this great cause.
The money raised through the campaign will be used to support the BLUE ScY 2015 program, which is a research initiative I run at Lund University for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. The BLUE ScY program provides support for the top up-and-coming diabetes researchers at Lund University to go to one of three centers of excellence for 6 month research visits: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (both in USA) and the University of Cambridge in the UK. The program has already proven extremely successful, with several exchanges completed or underway focused on conducting world-class diabetes research and building bridges between our institutes.
